Wilhelm Krause (*1853 in Schönlanke; †1935 in Berlin) was a German classical philologist and epigrapher. He was a professor at the University of Berlin and chiefly concerned himself with the inscriptions and languages of ancient Greece and Asia Minor. Krause was one of the pioneers of archaeology and epigraphy in Asia Minor and made significant contributions to the study of Anatolian scripts and languages. His main work “The Language of the Hittites” is considered a significant work in this field.
